The History and development of the Corsair RS1 and Constellation RS2 Manned Diesel Electric Submarines.

Autonomous manned submarines began
their practical development over
100 years ago. By the turn of the
century they were providing naval
organizations with reliable and safe
platforms for a host of submerged
operations...

For decades specialized naval
submarines utilizing diesel and nuclear
engines have performed intervention,
Mapping and Inspection missions with a
degree of effectiveness that rivaled any
surface deployed platform available.

These submarines operate without the
need of surface deployment support ships,
reducing weather sensitivity, project delays
and cost.

The RS Submarine's pressure hull is
formed out of high tensile strength steel,
similar to that which is used in our naval
submarine fleet. Proven, German made
diesel engines matted to reliable battery
systems delivers a level of autonomy
previously restricted to the Navy.

The RS Submarine is engineered large
enough to comfortably accommodate up
to six personnel, yet small enough to be
economically transported by road, rail or
ship.
Today, with over 12 years of offshore experience, the RS Diesel Electric Submarine is available for worldwide charter to marine research centers, commercial offshore industries and qualified naval forces located in the United States and abroad.
